Xavier Menduiña – licensee
Licensee, organizer and curator of TEDxReus and TEDxReusSalon, born in 1972 in Andorra la Vella where I lived until I started college at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. I graduated in the first class of Electrical Engineering of ETSE-UAB, after having completed my degree in Physics and while I was doing my doctorate in Physics of Radiations.
I have worked for several companies and sectors, always in relation to defining new growth or change strategies and starting up new services that, once in action, become integrated in the dynamics of organizations. A few years ago I co-founded mint’s mind, and our motto is “we make things happen”.
Founder and organizer of #trinxat, which has been organizing monthly meetings since November 2010 in which speakers are invited to explain their personal experiences while having dinner together. Even though these meetings started in Reus, #trinxats are now held regularly in Girona and Barcelona.
During the year, I coordinate the team that organizes TEDxReus and TEDxReusSalon in a totally altruistic way.
Happy winner of two awards “Enganxen” by Món de Reus on 2012 and 2013..
I grew up surrounded by the smell and the warmth of an oven in one of those old times bakeries, in Riudecols, my village. My first professional years were dedicated to this family business, as well as my studies. On a new professional stage I focused on training in the field of management and later moved on to the field of education. I currently work in the field of education for our youngest ones. I am amazed by infants’ lack of prejudices and their capacity to learn and to adapt, and specially their ability to show interest in everything around them.
I was born right in the middle of the X Generation and I became a bad student in graphic design and programming at the beginning of the Y Generation. I am devoted to keep up my father’s work in our family business, and that is how I complement my experience with my studies in MBA, and recently I have started studying digital marketing and electronic trade. As the head of my organization, I like to show that every person has a value worth unveiling and that we must pay attention to discover it.
You will find me where my contributions are valued, and I strive to promote the same in people on which I can influence.
I am excited by the power of little details, those that lead to trivial consequences and that turn excellent into exceptional.
I was born in Reus 40 years ago, and I used to be one of these kids that dismantelled any toy to see how it was made, and would then put it back together again… sometimes. 30 years later I am still very curious about why and how things work: I always carry a screwdriver with me. I am a full time father of Macià and Pep, and a part time worker in whatever is needed. Interested in technology, I studied technical engineering and I work as an engineer in an industrial systems and automatizations company.
One of my favourite moments in life is to see my sons’ face of excitement when I come out of the Bou of Reus or the Carrasclet Giant after having danced with them.
Graduated in business adminitration. Born in Reus and living in Tarragona, even though I prefer to say I live in Monnars. I grew up between Salou and Reus, surrounded by stoves, plates and tables from my parents’ two restaurants. People still stop me in the street to tell me that they will never forget the “cannelloni” my father prepared.
Always restless, I have practised many different sports, recently hiking, alpinism or canyoning. In my blog you can read about some of my adventures. I played theater and have dared to participate in a musical. I have shot a few short movies. I won some drawing and comic contests, and I now use my creativity in the advertising agency that I manage since 2001 in Reus. Through this agency I have switched from traditional advertising methods to online marketing, entering the demanding digital field. Since 2006 I publish the Enoguia of Tarragona, a wine and tourism guide that discovers our territory through its wines and cellars.
Let me tell you a secret: I am the undercover Tarragona spy in TEDxReus’ team. I am passionate about travelling, adventures and all outdoor activities. If you want to find me don’t look for me at home. I am fascinated by foreign languages and how they can lead you to discover new cultures and different people. I understand life as a series of challenges in which the major successes come from the ties you build with other people. That might be the reason why I am a psychologist.
I studied Philology. Life has brought me to the field of digital marketing and specially focused on social media.
One of my great passions is travelling. I can always find the way to discover new cultures, listen to foreign languages, taste exotic cuisine and explore hidden places with the help of locals.
I am also very interested in dance and body expression and have been been belly dancing since some time ago.
Catalan with a Swiss passport. Despite being drawn to history, archaeology and gastronomy, I ended up studying journalism and then political sciences. I am a strategy and communication consultant and I teach political oratory. I coordinate the Department for the Promotion of the Town of the Townhall of Valls.
The youngest of 6 siblings… what else can I say?
Oh, yes! I am 41 years old and I am intensely curious, restless, cheerful, creative and…
At the moment my professional life is related to books, the publishing business and always in touch with other fields such as… life! Amateur!!
… and I like people!
Born and raised in Reus, 22 years old, and just starting to explore the professional world.
Passionate about languages and with a special feeling for English (no, I don’t know why), I work teaching it to young and not-so-young ones.
Education in leisure has always played an important role in my life; that might explain why the philosophy of “learning by doing” also influences my professional life. I have yet not abandoned student life, despite being what peolple call a “graduate”, one must always reach a little further.
Woman, mother, wife… and from Reus, since a little over three decades.
My daily routine is devoted to the social, family and home areas, with all the good things that make us better people and help us become great and generous in community.
With all these “moments” I face life looking ahead.
